Welcome to my blog. After my last promise of hoping to write more frequently I realise that several weeks have gone by again with not so much as a single post:( Life has just gotten so hectic, as much as I have good intentions they just keep getting scuppered! But I did want to write and let you know about my amazing holiday in Lake Garda before the memories fade too far into the distance!
After our holiday to Sorrento last year which was my first trip to Italy I just fell in love with the Country and it’s beautiful architecture, I had been wanting to visit for a long time and I wasn’t disappointed, so this year’s trip to Lake Garda was another location I was longing to explore. We stayed in the south eastern side of the lake in a town called Descenzano.

The weather was mainly sunny, although we did experience a couple of amazing downpours which literally flooded the streets!

During the course of the week we managed to fit in a day trip to Verona, a full day trip around the lake, mostly by coach, but including a boat trip around the north of the lake, a half day visit to a winery. We also took a bus to Riva del Garda which is on the same side of the lake a little further north, I was interested as it was one of the places I was interested in staying. Here we visited some amazing botanical gardens and a very interesting ‘Ritornale’ – a Portmerion style set of buildings and gardens which was a a real find.
Finally we took a boat over to the other side of the lake and then walked about 6 miles along the promenade through a couple of towns to reach Garda – and the boat back to our hotel. One thing which was very noticeable was the amount of dogs out and about – during one evening I counted over 40 out and about for an evening stroll!
Luckily we did managed to have some chill out time too with swims in the hotel pool and eating out every night – although as a vegetarian this proved a bit tricky – with pasta and pizza being the only real options for me – and hence why I am now on a self imposed diet!
Almost as soon as we hit english soil it was time to collect our new puppy – meet Poppy our gorgeous new cocker spaniel puppy.

She is a lovely soft bundle of fun and mischief and love, and a pleasure to have around, although those little sharp teeth of hers are to be avoided if possible! If having a new puppy around the place was not enough to deal with, when I returned to work I started my new role which I am enjoying but there is a lot to learn and I am coming home exhausted:( I had good intentions of catching up with this blog on Monday evening but ended up falling asleep in the armchair! Oh dear, a sign of the times! Hopefully things will settle down soon x
In other news – well there has not been time for much other news, but I am hopeful to start my redecoration of my ‘snug’ room soon – I have set myself a deadline of christmas – which is starting to loom large in front of us – I bought the paint before going away but life has been so hectic lately all I have had time for is putting some undercoat on the windowsill! So more on this front soon hopefully……..
I have also signed up for a free course which starts next week! Crazy I know, with no spare time but I’m sure it will be very interesting – it is called the Power of Colour – and is an on-line course and will consist of teaching and inspirational videos, articles, quizzes, and discussions and assignments. The course is run by Future Learn and I am hoping it will reignite my passion for this aspect of interior living/styling. I am pleased to say that a couple of ladies at work have been asking me for help in choosing paint colours for their hallways and it is one of my favourite aspects of interior design so I am always open to learning more about the subject.
Through reading other interior/style blogs I have also signed up to receive tips for blogger newcomers about creating content and keeping the momentum going, so hopefully I can post more regularly again in the near future.
Until then…………
